OUR STORY

Embracing Our Roots, Nurturing the Land, and Sharing Quality Farm Goods

Tyler & Mandy Nix are owners of Henry River Farms. The passion for farming started early with Tyler working as a boy alongside his dad on their Christmas Tree Farm in Hendersonville, NC. His first job as a teenager was growing green beans and selling them to the local farmers market.

Mandy, a Registered Dietitian, has a passion for natural health and knowing where their family's food comes from.

A husband and wife, a farmer and a dietitian, combined their passions and expertise to start a farm. They shared a vision of producing sustainable, nutritious, and clean food. The farmer brought practical farming skills, and the dietitian focused on ensuring the produce met high nutritional standards. Together, they aimed to promote healthier eating habits and support their community through their farm.

"The early days on the farm were a whirlwind of hard work and learning. We faced challenges we had never anticipated—unexpected weather, pests, and the sheer physical demands of farming. But each obstacle taught us valuable lessons and brought us closer together.

We started small, planting a vegetable garden and raising a few chickens. But tending to our crops and animals gave us a sense of purpose and fulfillment. Slowly but surely, our farm began to take shape.

Welcome to our farm. Welcome to our dream come true."

Our Family Farm: A Labor of Love

At the heart of our farm is a simple truth: it’s a family affair. Every aspect of our farm, from planting seeds to harvesting crops, is deeply intertwined with the daily lives and efforts of our family members. Our farm is not just a business; it's a way of life, a labor of love, and a testament to the power of working together toward a common goal.

Children: Our 3 children bring youthful energy and curiosity to the farm. They help with planting, harvesting, and caring for the animals. Through these tasks, they learn valuable life skills and develop a deep respect for nature.

We invite you to visit our family farm and see firsthand how our collective efforts come to life. Experience the warmth and hospitality of a family working together, and discover the joys of farm life through our eyes.
